What is AROMAMED 25 (Exemestane)?

AROMAMED 25 is exemestane, the aromatase inhibitor that binds permanently. No estrogen rebound when you stop, and no interaction with tamoxifen.

Also sold as Aromasin, Exemestan or exemestane.

Exemestane is a steroidal aromatase inhibitor and it works differently from the others here. Rather than competing for the enzyme, it binds to it permanently and takes it out of service, so your body has to build new aromatase to recover. That is why it is described as a suicidal inhibitor, and it is why stopping it does not produce the estrogen rebound the non-steroidal ones can. Read our full exemestane overview.

12.5mg every other day is a sensible starting point and plenty of people never need more. The 25mg tablet halves cleanly for that.

Adjust from a blood test. High and low estrogen produce almost identical symptoms, so dosing by feel usually means overshooting.

Who is AROMAMED 25 for?

Anyone who wants estrogen control without the rebound risk, anyone running alongside, and anyone whose lipids are already a concern, since exemestane treats cholesterol more kindly than the alternatives.

Before you run it. Crashed estrogen is worse than high estrogen and it is far easier to do. Low estrogen gives you aching joints, no libido, erectile problems, flat mood and worse cholesterol than the steroids alone would. The trap is that those symptoms look almost identical to high estrogen, so people feel bad, assume they need more anti-estrogen, and dig deeper. Do not dose an aromatase inhibitor by feel. Measure estradiol and adjust from the number. The estrogen management guide covers how. And keep this on cycle: an aromatase inhibitor has no place in post-cycle therapy, where you need estrogen present for recovery to happen at all. Exemestane is the gentlest of the three on cholesterol and the only one without the tamoxifen interaction, but it is still an aromatase inhibitor and it will crash estrogen just as effectively if you overdo it. Fatigue and joint discomfort are the usual complaints when the dose is too high. Not for anyone under 18, and not for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to use AROMAMED 25

Swallow with water after food, which improves absorption noticeably with this compound. Every other day is the usual schedule. Stop it when the cycle ends rather than carrying it into post-cycle therapy.
