What is HCG 5000 IU (Astera Labs)?

Astera Labs HCG at 5000 IU. It replaces the testicular signal your body stops sending on cycle, and it is not a substitute for post-cycle therapy.

Also sold as HCG, chorionic gonadotropin, Pregnyl or Ovitrelle.

HCG is close enough in structure to luteinising hormone that the testicles respond to it the same way. On cycle, your own LH is shut down, so the testicles receive no signal and shrink. HCG supplies that signal from outside, which keeps them working and sized while everything above them is suppressed.

Who is HCG (Astera) for?

Before you run it. HCG is not post-cycle therapy and using it as though it were is the mistake that costs people months. It acts on the testicles directly, below the pituitary, so it wakes the factory without restarting the signal that runs it. Worse, running it through post-cycle therapy suppresses the pituitary further, which is the opposite of what you are trying to do. Use it before post-cycle therapy, stop it, then run a SERM. It also raises estrogen, because it stimulates aromatase inside the testicles directly, so gyno can appear on HCG even when your cycle estrogen management seemed fine. Watch for it and read the estrogen management guide. High doses over long periods desensitise the testicles, which is why on-cycle dosing is small and frequent rather than large. Reconstituted vials must be refrigerated and used within a few weeks. Bloodwork is how you confirm any of it worked. Not for anyone under 18, and not for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
